Deadline for proposals:
November 1, 2023. The NNBA will notify the speakers selected by November 15, 2023. Speaker spots are limited.

Empowering Nurses Through Entrepreneurship means the NNBA looks for speakers/presenters that inform and demonstrate how nurses become entrepreneurs and how nurses succeed in business. Speakers will be chosen that share business opportunities and best business practices for nurses to start, grow or improve their business. Several examples would be: How to be a Nurse Consultant, How to Market and Contract with Corporate Clients, How to Start a Home Health Agency, How to Grow from Being and Independent Contractor to a Staffing Agency Owner, How to Be a Legal Nurse Consultant, How to Write, Publish and Market a Book, How to Win with Social Media, How to Market Your Nursing Business. There are many more topics/titles that would provide value for our audience.

The NNBA looks for speakers that are engaging, informative, outcome based and well networked. Only speaker proposals from NNBA members will be considered. Speakers are expected to utilize their social media channels and professional networks to assist the marketing and promotion of #NNBA2024 conference.

The presentations are typically divided into 30-to-50-minute sessions. A speaker may speak in multiple tracks and give multiple presentations. Presentation methods include lectures, interactive sessions and panel discussions. The presentations:

  • Should provide rich information for the entrepreneurial nurse.
  • Should be interactive to enable the audience to participate in the learning experience.
  • Should be clear, crisp, and interesting.
  • Should provide take-away materials with actionable items that enable attendees to follow your suggestions.

Proposals must include:

  • Full contact information (full name, mailing address, email address, phone number, credentials as they are to appear in program)
  • A short title: keep title short, use 6 words or less. If you need to describe content further, put a colon after the title and add a secondary title.
  • An abstract: Describe your presentation, an accurate summary of the content you plan to present relevant to nurse entrepreneurship. This should be no more than 150 words. This is very important as we will use this to create marketing material.
  • A brief bio: Your biography should focus on your experience related to the topic.
  • Two learning objectives: state in the objectives what you expect attendees to be able to accomplish after your session.
  • If selected, you will need to provide a short outline including a list of the main topics of your session.

Proposals must include a professional picture (electronic JPEG file) attached with your proposal.
