Matter of Perspective
Matter of Perspective
“It is always too soon to quit and it is never too late to start” – Adrian Rogers
Here’s a universal truth to help nurses that are new to starting a business and a truth, that nurses in business for several years already know; success is not linear. Much like the picture to the left, our paths can look like spaghetti at times. Keeping this perspective you realize that what appeared to be a roadblock resulted in you turning onto a different road and exploring new places.
The challenges that we all face are opportunities for growth and development. With the right perspective these challenges promote insight, awareness, strength, resilience and wisdom. For those of you that have been in business several years, how has turning around or detours shaped you and your business?
A little boy was overheard talking to himself as he strutted through the backyard, a baseball cap on his head, ball and bat in hand. He was muttering, “I’m the greatest hitter in the world!” Then he tossed the ball in the air, swung at it, and missed. “Strike one!” He picked up the ball, threw it into the air and said to himself, “I’m the greatest hitter ever!” He swung at the ball again. “Strike two!” He paused, examined his bat and ball and threw the ball into the air, missing a third time. He cried out, “Wow! I’m the greatest pitcher in the world!”
You see, it’s all a matter of perspective.
That is so true. Maintaining a positive attitude about the success of your business and how much you help people is really important at any stage in your business. Yes, there are challenges to running a business like attracting a steady stream of clients. Yet, those challenges are also excellent opportunity for you to get creative. You can zig when everyone else is zagging if you reframe to a new perspective. Thanks!
