This winter, get FIERCE with Cancer!!!
an active support group with a positive focus on health
Serving the unique needs of those going through the cancer experience with a positive, active focus on movement with the goal of restoring function and enjoyment of activity. Improve strength, health, & quality of life with independence and confidence. Overcome roadblocks to motivation, confidence, and knowledge about exercise in regard to cancer.
Ninety minute private group session includes warmup, gentle stretching & resistance exercise, aerobic walking, cooldown, discussion, sharing, learning, & demonstration. Everyone works at their own pace and ability each day, no competition or expectations, only support!
FIERCE: Functional & Fit, Independent, Energized, Restored, Confident, Empowered
FIERCE is for anyone:
- Recently diagnosed with cancer
- Undergoing treatment for cancer
- Who has completed treatment for cancer
Living with cancer
Cost: FREE (no need to be a member, but great membership benefits available!)Provided: Antibacterial Wipes and Hand Sanitizer, mats (or bring your own) Private entrance and private environment. Support, helpful information, and a great time!
Information: Call Alene at 970-372-7330 Registration required. If you are in active cancer treatment, you must provide medical clearance from your physician.
Facilitator: Alene Nitzky, Ph.D., RN, OCN, ACE® Certified Health Coach, ACSM/American Cancer Society Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer, Certified Oncology Nurse
Bring: sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, loose, comfortable clothing, a towel, & water bottle
Where: Raintree Athletic Club, 2555 S. Shields, Fort Collins, Enlighten Studio
When: Twice a month, 12 sessions starting October 15, 2014 through April 1, 2015 on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 6:15-7:45 pm.
