National Nurses Week
The Nurse Effect…
In Celebration of National Nurses Week
Today is the first day of National Nurses Week and I want to ask you to do something important. Take a moment and reflect on a few first memories…The first day you decided to become a nurse. The first day of your nursing education. The first patient you cared for, evaluated, and educated. Your first nurse friends, co-workers and supervisors. The first time you thought of yourself as a nurse… The settings, the nurses, patients and people are all so different yet nurses are all connected through experiences that transcends buildings, localities and cultures.
Here is the most important thing I want you to remember. Remember to thank the person that you see in the mirror; thank the amazing nurse that you are. Allow yourself to feel the gratitude of the many lives that you have impacted and continue to influence. Feel the connection to the millions of nurses in this country and around the world recognizing that you are making the world a better place. I am filled with gratitude for each and everyone of you. I see the magnitude of lives touched by a nurse who cared in practice and profession. The Ripple Effect is the Nurse Effect.
