NNBA Evolution Update
Has it really been a year since taking over the helm of the National Nurses in Business Association? It has gone by so fast that much of it has been a blur. Here are my biggest take-a-ways of this past year:
Launch, the timing of the launch of a brand new website for the NNBA and delivering new benefits and features was so challenging. Your feedback was very encouraging and we will continually work on it to be a platform that you enjoy working within and visiting often. Thousands of nurses are visiting the website and our traffic has increased substantially this past year. We have an average page view time that continues to exceed the national average. Thanks for visiting and visiting often!
Learn, not a day goes by that I am not learning. Everyone, from aspiring nurse entrepreneurs to seasoned nurses in business are my teachers. We have such a richly resourced membership and the creativity, talent and brains of nurse business owners is awesome. Please continue to send me emails, call and let me know what we can do to improve.
Lean, I am so fortunate to be able to lean and stand on the shoulders of giants! I have spoken with past presidents: Kay Davis, Pam Buckman, Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio and Pat Bemis and appreciate their tremendous insights. Many of our members that have years of successful business experience willingly share their advice, knowledge, experience, encouragement and support. I am truly lucky to have so many nurses that contribute and care about the NNBA.
Look, we are always looking at the current state of our healthcare system. We need to recognize the economics of healthcare and take the lead in reframing and reshaping how nurses work in this environment. Legislative and technological changes provide new and impactful opportunities for nurses in business.
Love, I absolutely love my job; how could I not enjoy working with nurses each and every day. It is my core belief the more nurses that are successful in business, the more nurse’s voices will be heard. I’m passionate about helping nurses find success and maximize their opportunities in business. Working with our members is exhilarating and I leave conversations feeling so inspired. For all these things I thank you and look forward to serving you for years to come.

This is an educational and professional development event. It is designed to give attendees, from emerging nurse entrepreneurs to nurse business leaders and managers, the benefit of learning from top-ranked experts on relevant topics and to connect with prestigious speakers and like-minded colleagues. Great post Michelle. A great reminder for nurses in business to always be thinking about the “Ls”…launch (never ending launching of new products, new services, etc.); learn (maintaining a healthy curiosity for learning is the hallmark of success!!); and that goodness for the ability to LEAN and LOVE!
Thanks Michelle. Looking forward to the conference this year. I’m sure it will be amazing and provide many opportunities for launching, learning, leaning, looking and loving :-).
Thank you for everything you do for us!
Renee
