NNBA Nurse Entrepreneur News – 01/01/2020

Happy New Year! 2020 promises to be an exciting year for nurses. While the World Health Organization declared it the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, the NNBA has been dedicated to advancing and promoting nurses roles in business every year since 1985. Nurse autonomy, flexibility, and financial freedom is something we rally around, and will continue to for 2020 and beyond! If you have ever thought about starting your own business, and amplifying your influence, make sure you are a member of the NNBA community of nurse entrepreneurs and business owners.

What are you looking forward to in 2020? Is this the year you author a book to share your message? Are you going to take your educational programs into hospitals and corporate settings? Are you going to advocate for increased diversity and health literacy to improve the world’s health and wellness? Are you going to create a business serving the elderly in your community? Are you creating online educational courses? Have you decided to learn more about telehealth and its major impact on how healthcare services are provided? Is 2020 the year that you continue the momentum of 2019 or is it a time to regroup?

Tabula Rasa means clean slate, and each New Year is a clean slate of personal and professional growth opportunities! For 2020, you can design your new year or your next decade. It is said that we over estimate what we can achieve in a year, and underestimate what we can achieve in ten years. Many nurses view NNBA’s annual educational conference on entrepreneurship and career alternatives as a launch point for designing their career over the next several years. The strategies and tactics learned, and the connections made with peers and successful business owners, give nurses resources they can trust as they pivot their careers into owning their own business. Place September 25-27th on your calendars for #NNBA2020 Conference. We have many special events are planned for NNBA’s 35th Anniversary.

Insights, trends, and inspirations are included in our articles of interest below. These Bold New Year’s Resolutions Will Inspire Your 2020 Goals reveals how being inspired to action outperforms feelings of obligation. One of the Small Business Marketing Insights for 2020 noted in our second article is the value of podcasting. We have several NNBA members doing a stellar job of podcasting, and this marketing practice is only growing. I also appreciate the focus on customer experience citing convenience, knowledgeable communication, and efficiency as the top qualities consumers’ request. Keep in mind when you read, 9 of Dale Carnegies Most Powerful Quotes on Gratitude that there is scientific evidence outlining the benefits of gratitude. Gratefulness  brings happiness, positive mood, and more satisfaction with life. You are less likely to experience burnout, better physical health, better sleep and greater resiliency. I’m thinking about each of you that take the time to read our newsletter, and I’m grateful that you are part of the NNBA community. I’m sending wishes for your health, happiness and prosperity for the New Year!
