In this past year, COVID-19 has resulted in dramatic changes to the healthcare marketplace. Patient care is now forever changed with the growth of virtual care. Deloitte came out with a report that states Healthcare Spending Will Reach $8.3 Trillion by 2040. Deloitte attributes the projected rise in spending to the anticipated increase in digital technologies including real-time biometric sensing, apps, wearables, and digital nudging. While this is a mind-numbing number, the upside of their projection is that 60% of healthcare spending will go to improving health and well-being!
