NNBA 2021 Conference

NNBA 2021 Pre-conference B (LB) – You Too Can Be a Legal Nurse Consultant

Pre-conference B          Lorie Brown, RN, MN, JD

Attorneys have a limitless and never-ending demand for Legal Nurse Consultants (LNC). If I gave you a medical record, would you be able to look at it and decide if things should have been done, that were not done? Or if things were done, that should not have been done? If so, you have everything you need to be an LNC. Attorneys hire LNCs for their nursing knowledge, not their legal knowledge. In this session, we will take a sample medical malpractice case and do a review for merit so you have some work product to share with potential attorney clients. We will talk about the do’s and don’ts of report writing and what attorneys really want in hiring a legal nurse consultant. Precon B – LB – 3.0 Contact Hours.

During this pre-conference seminar, you will learn:

  • 3 key components of report writing
  • 4 things attorneys look for in hiring LNCs
